I would like to thank all our readers and wish you a Happy New Year 2008. The English section of our site was started during the second half of 2007. All comments and feedback are welcome! What would you like to see here? One improvement for the 2008 is to get an English domain name. I just don’t have an idea yet that would cover both caravan and motorhome travelling.
The biggest hit of the 2007 was Kabe Royal Tower - an exceptional two storey caravan. The Carado diary will continue during 2008. Finnish camping site reviews will be also published. News about caravan and motorhome world is the basis of this site, so all news tips are welcome to uutiset(change-to-at)caravanuutiset.com (I will set-up a feedback form later).

I purchased Daewoo vacuum cleaner to fight against dirt in my motorhome. It is a 1600 watt device, so it is a much more effective than battery operated small vacuum cleaners. Daewoo has a telescopic tube, so it will fit into a small storage space. The price was only 39 euros, which was a bargain.
Daewoo’s drawback is the size. It takes one shelf from the cabinet. It also requires mains voltage and cannot be used with an inverter.

Motor Caravan wants to find the UK’s best campsites. They are building up a guide called Top 101 Sites. You can nominate your own favorite.
Symartic is developing ExtGPS application that allows you to use mobile phone’s built-in GPS externally on a laptop. Connection method is Bluetooth and the application is mainly targeted for Nokia N95, E90, and 6110 Navigator handsets.
ExtGPS is in early Beta phase and the current version is v0.31. It is free for personal use.
There is a good comparison of Nokia N95 vs N82 usability on Symbianworld blog. N95 is better suited for watching videos due to a slightly larger display. It is also a better music device with dedicated buttons and better placed speakers. N82 is strong on imaging and has a xenon flash and it is generally a quicker device.
If you have your own tire gauge you don’t have to worry about if the gas station gauges give correct readings. I have noticed that local gas station gauges are unreliable, so I have purchased my own. It was around 15 euros and gives readings in bar scale. It uses coin type batteries and they last typically few years.
There’s also tire gauges with integrated solar panel to get rid of the batteries. Not a huge advantage, since the battery life time is very good with conventional gauges. More advanced models can give readings in several scales like Bar, Psi, Kpa, and Kg/cm2. ChinaInvasion.
Cigarette lighter can be replaced with something much more useful like this rechargeable LED light (Spotlight). It fits most automotive style power outlets and it’s housed in anodized aluminum body. Charging the Ni-MH battery takes 3 hours, which gives 60 minutes of light.
I have a conventional LED light in the glove box, but the problem is that when I need it the batteries are always dead. Rechargeable light solves the problem and the design of the Spotlight looks very nice.

Ford Transit Jumbo has a maximum weight of 4600 kg. The strongest engine is 3.2-litre TDCI that provides 200 hp and 470 Nm torque. It is a rear wheel drive model. Jumbo would be a good chassis for large motorhomes.
Richard Hammond from Top Gear had a marvellous idea. 15 laps of road racing with a motorhome. The idea was to use the same car to travel from home to the track, stay one night tuning the motorhome for racing, race, and then to travel back home. The rules said that it was a no contact race. See the video.
